Sofie Tyler, Reenactor
Hi. I’m Sofie, a reenactor of nearly a decade but I have been sewing for almost my whole life. My main passion for reenactment is the high medieval era covering the 12th/13th centuries but I have dabbled in the 17th, Georgian and WW2 too.
I have a near pathological need to try everything at least once, and through reeneactment I sew, paint, leatherwork, metal work, cook, build furniture, fletch arrows and much much more. I don’t confine myself to the camp either, taking part in the fighting just as much as the living history.
Although I have no formal education in history (didn’t even take it as a GCSE), my degree and ‘real job’ in computer networks gives me the researching know-how to investigate my personal interests in history which I endeavour to document and share much like other ‘armature academics’ in reenactment.
